Biofuels Mandate in Aviation: Sharing the Norwegian Experiences
The European Commission has proposed the ReFuelEU Aviation initiative as part of the ‘Fit for 55’ package. This initiative will oblige fuel suppliers to blend increasing levels of sustainable aviation fuels in jet fuel taken on-board at EU airports. Norway introduced a mandate for sustainable biofuels for the aviation sector in January 2020.
What does the Norwegian blending mandate for biofuel entail, and how does it work? How does it impact airport operators and jet fuel retailers? In this webinar, the European Commission will present their ReFuelEU Aviation initiative, and we will share Norwegian experiences with biofuels in aviation thus far.
Introduction by Ambassador of Norway to the EU, Rolf Einar Fife.
