RAeS Conference: Cutting Aviation’s Climate Change Impact
Recovery from the COVID crisis is a near-term imperative for the aviation industry but meeting the challenge of climate change is equally important for its longer-term viability.
With the world looking for significant progress at the crucial COP26 meeting in Glasgow in November, what should aviation be doing to reduce its impact on climate change?
Challenging emissions targets have been set and supported by many parts of the industry and, in the UK, a Jet Zero Council has been established. This 2-day conference will hear how the industry is (and should be) responding to these initiatives, both on its carbon emissions and the non-carbon impacts. What part will be played by ATM, new technologies and new energy sources such as electricity and hydrogen? Senior government, industry, academic and environmental speakers from the UK and internationally will give their views which delegates will be able to question and discuss.
