TAKE-OFF PRESENTED AT JOINT WORKSHOP ON THE CONVERSION OF CO₂ TO FUELS

On the 18th of September, Andrei Khodakov, Research Director at our project partner CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) presented the TAKE-OFF project during the online Workshop on the Conversion of CO₂ to Fuels we co-organised with EU COZMOSC2FUEL and 4Aircraft.

The presentation titled “Methanol-mediated synthesis of sustainable aviation fuels from CO₂ “ gave Andrei the chance to take stock of progress made towards the headline project targets, as well as to emphasize the development of catalysts and process design for converting CO₂ into light olefins using bifunctional catalysts.

The research conducted enabled the establishment of correlations between selectivity and conversion, a deeper understanding of the roles played by individual catalyst components, and the optimisation of both reaction yield and selectivity. Also, ongoing work is aimed at enhancing the selectivity of olefin oligomerisation to jet fuel fractions.

The webinar, which saw the participation of over 70 attendees, was an opportunity for the four projects – which are all focusing on the thermal, catalytic conversion of CO₂ to synthetic fuels and chemicals – to present their major results and in particular the technical developments within their technologies.

Dr. Khodakov’s presentation can be found here.

The webinar recording will be available on our website shortly.
